Robert Caples (1918-1996)...Born: Los Angeles, CA

Studied: Chouinard Art Institute.

Robert Caples grew up in Southern California and after graduating from high school in the mid 1930s, he attended art school in Los Angeles. He then went to work for the Walt Disney Studios producing watercolor background paintings for animated films.

In the 1950s and 1960s, he Aso did background painting for animated films produced by Warner Brothers Studios and Hanna-Barbera Studios. Throughout his career, and after retiring in the early 1970s, Caples also produced fine art and commercial illustrations painted with watercolors and gouache.
